Tropicbird Townhouse is a multi-level hillside home in Forest Hills Villas, Mason Hall, where the view from the verandah is green forest rather than traffic and the morning alarm is the birds. It's the property for guests who want to see a different, quieter side of Tobago.
It is also the most flexible stay we offer. Book a single bedroom for two, two or three bedrooms for a family, or take the entire townhouse including the entertainment basement with its games and easy access to the pool. You only pay for the space you need.
Scarborough and its ferry terminal are around twenty five minutes away, and the beaches of the south-west an easy drive, so Tropicbird works as a peaceful base for exploring the whole island.

The marble-topped island and stainless appliances make cooking for the group easy, and a wood dining table waits next door. Grocery delivery can be arranged on request, so the fridge can be stocked before you arrive.

Downstairs, the entertainment room with its foosball table is where rivalries are settled, a space that keeps teenagers happy and gives the grown-ups a quiet living room upstairs.

Prices shown in US$ at 1 USD = TT$7; bookings are invoiced in TT$. Nightly prices can vary by date: choose a configuration to see each night's price on the booking calendar. Any current promotion is applied automatically in your quote. Guests choose the booking option that fits their group. Rates are indicative in TT$ per night and confirmed at the time of enquiry, as they vary by season. A queen-size blow-up mattress for 2 additional guests is available for an extra $200 per night.
House Rules
- No cooking with the air conditioning running; please open the windows instead.
- Turn off AC units and electrical items when leaving the villa.
- Events and parties require prior arrangement and payment at the time of booking.
- No smoking inside the villas.
- Pets are not permitted unless agreed with management in advance.
Good to Know
- Check-in & check-out
- Times vary by property and are confirmed before arrival. Early check-in is TT$400 before 12pm or TT$200 after; late check-out is TT$200 before 2pm or TT$400 after, subject to availability.
- Deposit & balance
- A 50% deposit within 72 hours of confirmation secures your dates. The balance is due 21 days before arrival; stays booked within 21 days are paid in full.
- Damage deposit
- Equal to one night's rate for your chosen configuration, refunded within five working days of check-out after inspection.
- Cancellations
- Bookings are non-refundable, but you can rebook the same accommodation (or sometimes another property) within six months at no extra charge.
- Arrival
- Directions and gate access are sent once your booking is confirmed; call our team or housekeeper on arrival and we'll meet you in.
- Payment
- By bank transfer to our TT$ or US$ Scotiabank accounts or our Republic Bank TT$ account. Nothing is charged on this website.

Mason Hall, the green heart of Tobago
Mason Hall is a hillside village in the centre of the island, where Tobago stops being a beach resort and becomes forest, farmland and birdsong. It's cooler and quieter than the coast, and it puts you between two coasts: the beaches of the south-west in one direction, and in the other the road north toward the Main Ridge Forest Reserve, protected since 1776 and one of the oldest legally protected forests in the Western Hemisphere.
- Scarborough. Tobago's capital, with its market, fort and the ferry terminal to Trinidad, around twenty five minutes away.
- Main Ridge Forest Reserve. Rainforest trails, waterfalls and some of the Caribbean's best birdwatching.
- The south-west beaches. Pigeon Point, Store Bay and Buccoo are an easy drive for a beach day.
- Northside Road. The scenic coastal road toward Castara and the quieter fishing villages of the north.
